Richland School District

The Richland School District is made up of nine elementary schools, three middle schools, and three high schools. Unlike other districts in the Tri-Cities area, the Richland School District not only serves the students throughout the city of Richland but the city of West Richland as well.

 

Honors and Awards Received

The Richland School District has received a number of honors and awards throughout the years for both their academics and their extra-curricular programs and teams, including, The International Reading Association awarded the “Exemplary Reading Program Award” to Tapteal Elementary School; Elementary School teacher Jason Lee was awarded by the National Association of Geoscience Teacher the “Pacific Northwest Outstanding Earth Science Teacher”; Richland High School has been recognized on multiple occasions for their girls soccer teams; Hanford High School has additionally been recognized for their girls swim teams; In 2005, the Washington Art Education Association awarded a Richland High School teacher the “Secondary Level Art Teacher”; and in 2006, the gold medal was given by the Academic Performance by Expansion Management magazine to the entire Richland School District.

In addition, to the educational opportunities that the Richland School District offers students, the city of Richland is also home to a campus of Washington State University. The campus offers a number of programs including Wine Business Management, Computer Science, English, Viticulture, Nursing, Engineering, Political Science, as well as an assortment of graduate and doctoral studies.
