The city of Kennewick is home to a notably large school district, one that has grown to include close to fifteen elementary schools, four middle schools, and three high schools. The Kennewick School District has become known for its excellent quality of student life.
Honors and Awards Received
Throughout the years, the Kennewick School District has been recognized by a number of sources for their excellent academics, with many considering the school district one of the best in Benton County. Additionally, the Kennewick School District has become synonymous with exceptional extra-curricular programs, including soccer, instrumental music, track, basketball, and football. In June 2006, a national educational consulting and research firm presented the Kennewick District with the, “What Parents Want” Award. In the late 1990’s the Kennewick School District was also recognized for a number of reasons including its Accountability Program which was recognized in 1998 by the American School Board Journal; and the Grand Prize Magna Award for Board Leadership in 1997.
